Concerning the continuation of the kidney disease prevention and education task force, and, in connection therewith, implementing the recommendation of the Department of Regulatory Agencies in the department's 2025 sunset report to sunset the task force.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Health Care
Concerning the use of artificial intelligence in health care. This bill creates a regulatory structure for the use of an artificial intelligence (AI) system or algorithm in health care that specifies where AI can and cannot be used. The bill defines “mental health companion chatbot” and places requirements and restrictions on their use. Further, the bill places requirements on mental health professionals who use AI systems in their practices; persons who deploy AI systems in the state, including mental health companion chatbots; and health insurers regarding coverage for services and claims processing. Provisions of the bill are outlined in more detail below.

Homeowner's Insurance Data Privacy Protections
This bill creates personal data privacy protections for consumers of homeowner’s insurance.
A consumer has the right to confirm whether a licensee is processing the consumer's personal data, to access the consumer's personal data, and to request a correction or amendment of inaccurate or incomplete personal data or the deletion of personal data that is not needed for the homeowner's insurance transaction or for specific products or services for which the consumer has given their consent.

Kidney Screening Mandatory Preventive Coverage
The bill adds kidney function screening services as mandated preventive health-care services for which insurance policies or contracts in the state must provide total-cost coverage (no co-pays, no deductibles). Coverage for kidney function screening services will be implemented for all large employer health benefit policies or contracts issued or renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2027, and coverage will be implemented for all individual and small group health benefit plans issued or renewed in this state on or after January 1, 2028
