Meet Sheila Lieder

“Lieder” like “Leader”

My name is Sheila Lieder, and I have been a lifelong champion for working Coloradans. Coming from a working-class family with a history of military service, I have always believed that service to others is one of the most important things a person can do. At the state house, I have worked to uplift hardworking Jeffco families. I’ve worked hard my whole life to put food on my family’s table while helping others do the same. Having spent four decades as a telecom worker, I am a longtime believer in organized labor. I’ve been an active advocate at the state Capitol for years, working on behalf of my fellow telecom workers and seniors.

I have long been active in our community, including serving as the Labor Merit Badge Coordinator and Communications Merit Badge Coordinator for BSA Troop 498, where my son was an Eagle Scout. I am also a longtime volunteer with the Colorado Alliance for Retirees, serving on their executive board and national board, and was a member of the Tri-County Workforce Development Board for approximately 10 years. I am a lifetime member of the Jefferson County Democratic Latino Initiative (JDLI) and served on my Homeowners’ Association as vice president and president for 14 years.
